PROGRAM OFFICER, LAC At FH Canada, we believe transformation happens when local communities are in the driverâs seat. As part of our International Programs team, youâll help bring this vision to life by strengthening community-led initiatives that create tangible, lasting impact as our Program Officer, assigned to the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region. Youâre skilled in turning data and insights into action, using results-based management and MEAL systems to strengthen program impact. You have in-country experience supporting local projects and you are fluent in the Spanish language (written and oral). Whether youâre connecting with partners, collaborating with global colleagues, or writing donor reports, you bring clarity, consistency, and compassion to every interaction. THE JOB Role As Program Officer, you will oversee a portfolio of international program partnerships for the LAC region, ensuring the effective delivery of FH Canadaâfunded initiatives in alignment with our 2030 strategic focus on Partnering for Impact. In this role, you will: Strengthen community-led impact by facilitating participatory program design, monitoring, and learning processes that center local voices. Support partnerships through regular communication and in-person visits âensuring clarity, accountability, and shared learning. Oversee program quality and compliance, including financial planning, performance monitoring, and reporting, in alignment with FH Canada and donor requirements. Support grants and donor relations, providing relevant data and impact stories to engage institutional and private donors, and supporting new funding opportunities (especially with Global Affairs Canada). Foster collaboration and learning, contributing to inter-partner knowledge exchange and thought leadership that advances faith-driven, community-centered approaches to development. What You Bring Bachelorâs degree in international development, humanitarian response, or a related field (Masterâs degree an asset). Minimum 3 years of experience in international development or humanitarian relief, managing or supporting program implementation. Proven knowledge and experience with results-based management, MEAL systems, and one or more technical areas such as gender equality or food security. Experience with Canadian charitable regulations and GAC-funded programming is considered an asset. Fluency in both English and Spanish with proven ability to navigate the nuances of working across cultures and contexts with grace and integrity is considered a significant asset. Detail-oriented and data-savvy, with the ability to synthesize both quantitative and qualitative information. Alignment with and commitment to FH Canadaâs mission and values. Must be legally able to work in Canada and travel internationally. THE DETAILS Location/Hours: This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in Canada. We offer a flexible work schedule within core collaboration hours, supporting both autonomy and connection in a digital-first environment. Travel: Up to 6 weeks per year nationally and internationally. Valid passport required. Compensation: $68,000-$80,000 annually, based on level of education and experience.
